thanx a lot …ive been using this option for ages but somehow for past few days i wasnt able to telnet 192.168.1.1 ….after reading your article ive enable “remote telnet management” and thing works again like a charm…but im worried abut who changd the parameter in first place ?

Hi All

Any one facing a problem with the script given on this site. I mean the script is flawless and works like a charm but behaves in a very erratic manner. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Due to this erratic behaviour I have had a couple of nights where my download has been counted in my normal day downloads. There is no fixed time or steps that I have been able to dicepher as to why the script behaves in this manner. The error is standard – could not connect to host 192.168.1.1 on port 23. Connection timed out I have enabled Remote Telnet Management in the router settings, I have enabled the Telenet service in the Windows Services applet also. Is there anything else that needs to be taken care of in any of the other settings. I have the DLink DSL – 502T router from MTNL. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hello,

I have the UT router and can't figure out how to work it at all. Even with the updated script from Zack. What is the equivalent for Remote Telnet Management. Any help would be much appreciated.

The script works on any router that supports telnet login. And the 23 in the line is the port number. Telnet works on Port 23.

It is working on Dlink GLB-502T.

Just copy paste the below lines inside the RouterReboot.txt file 192.168.1.1 WAIT "BusyBox on localhost login:" SEND "root\m" WAIT "Password:" SEND "admin\m" WAIT "#" SEND "reboot\m"

NOw follow the steps mentioned in this blog.
