But concerns over the lack of Flash in the iPad and iPhone may be short-lived. Many online video sites have been experimenting with a new video format, called HTML5. Unlike Flash, which is a downloaded piece of software that can interact with a computer’s operating system, HTML5 works directly in a Web browser. And although this new video format does not work in all browsers, it will allow iPhone and iPad users to enjoy more Web-based video content.

Major New Announcements by Boxee →

Boxee, my choice of Media Center app, just announced a whole list of new features added to the platform. One of the major announcement is that Boxee will now be available (as an alpha release) for Windows users as well. This now means that there would be even more users onto the social network and thus, a better chance of getting good recommendations / likes from your friends.

Also, since Boxee is now available on all platforms, more interesting apps can be possible by the developers.

Logitech is, undoubtedly, the ultimate brand when it comes to input devices like the keyboard and mice. A while back, I had the privilege of reviewing two of their top of the line mice the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse and Logitech MX Air Cordless mouse.

While bringing amazing input devices, Logitech also has an incredible speaker system line-up some of which I’ve been eyeing myself. Even though I currently own a Creative 4.1 Speaker system , it is being used as a 2.1 system because I don’t have the need or the space requirements for such a setup. I’ve been thinking of giving these off and purchasing a 2.1 speaker system for myself.

Co-incidence or not, Logitech has just announced a promotional offer that gives you three free DVD sets on purchase of any of their 2.1 speaker systems. Their range includes the X-210, X-230, R-20 and Z4/ Z4i speakers, with more details about each of the system here. The bundled DVD offers three movies that include Rang De Basanti, Guru and Delhi 6. This promotional offer from Logitech is on in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Kerala from May 18, 2009 to June 30, 2009.

I’ve set my eyes on the Z4-i, mainly because it goes with my MacBook Pro.

Dell’s trying really hard here. I get that. But $2000 for a 1.2Ghz processor?

At least in India, Dell is know not because it’s the best out there, but because you can go get the configuration you want at a price decent enough to think that you got a great deal. The Adamo is just going to have the same fate as the iPhone had in India.

HTC Magic: The Phone So Good… →

The HTC Magic, exclusive to Vodafone, is only the second phone to have Google’s Android OS. It’ll be available in the countries of UK, Germany, Spain, France and Italy initially.

Now, the phone is so good that…

• They had to mention “Touch Screen” in the features, twice.
• They had to mention “Built-in GPS Navigation”, twice.
• The Camera is 3.0 to 4.0 Megapixel
• Flash or Light is one of the features and they’ve even included an Alarm Clock.

Stone Throwing Incident at Mumbai Theatre →

The protestors objected to a line in the song that they feel is derogatory. The film being shown in Gaiety, invited wrath from [a] group who gathered outside the theatre soon after Friday prayers [and] showed their anger by throwing stones outside and then entered the theatre.

I’m still trying to make sense of the above…

Mukesh Ambani, was recently in the news, apparently because some sources had made him the “World’s richest man” overtaking the software giant, Bill Gates.

It didn’t take long before an official statement was released saying that nothing from that news was true. In fact, forbes lists him @ number 14.

Now, even though the news turned out to be false and Mr. Anil Ambani might have danced merry in the rain, it didn’t take long for the senior Ambani to be in the news again.

Apparently, Mr. Senior Ambani loves his wife so much, that he’s gifted her a whole friggin plan. Yes, you read that right, an Aeroplane. The plane costs a whopping Rs. 242 Crores and takes a place equal to the size of Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.

Now, we all know how happy Mrs. Ambani would be. But seriously, how often would the place be used ? She’s probably gonna use it to travel to the nearby jewelery store or something similar.

Now, what I don’t understand is the need of such expensive gifts. Do these people forget about all the under-developed and developing countries in the world. Forget about that, these people are trying to ignore the problems faced by Mumbai itself.

Imagine how many poor families would have been fed with those 242 Crores.
