A gift worth 242 crores
Mukesh Ambani, was recently in the news, apparently because some sources had made him the “World’s richest man” overtaking the software giant, Bill Gates.
It didn’t take long before an official statement was released saying that nothing from that news was true. In fact, forbes lists him @ number 14.
Now, even though the news turned out to be false and Mr. Anil Ambani might have danced merry in the rain, it didn’t take long for the senior Ambani to be in the news again.
Apparently, Mr. Senior Ambani loves his wife so much, that he’s gifted her a whole friggin plan. Yes, you read that right, an Aeroplane. The plane costs a whopping Rs. 242 Crores and takes a place equal to the size of Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.
Now, we all know how happy Mrs. Ambani would be. But seriously, how often would the place be used ? She’s probably gonna use it to travel to the nearby jewelery store or something similar.
Now, what I don’t understand is the need of such expensive gifts. Do these people forget about all the under-developed and developing countries in the world. Forget about that, these people are trying to ignore the problems faced by Mumbai itself.
Imagine how many poor families would have been fed with those 242 Crores.

giv him a break guys. how many of us spend lavishly on parties, gifts, gadgets etc; which cud feed atleast a group of 10 poor ppl, but do v do it? no, v dont!!

Spending on parties, gifts, gadgets is totally different from spengin a 242 crore gift. He could have easily gifted her something sensible. But NOooo… he gifts her a 242 crore plane.
Look at Bill Gates. He’s the richest man in the world, but still takes some time out to donate huge sums to charity.

I am sure this incidence of gifting 242 Crore to wife shows that INDIA is not concerend with BHARAT.
I am sure even 10% of this gift would have made life of at least 1Lac families better for years by having a shelter and two times of meal!
Would get angry if I got a new car instead of donating it to charity? The magnitude may be smaller but the situation is nearly the same. I don’t need a car right now, just as ambani’s wife doesn’t need a plane. Its just a convenience and luxury.
Its his money… It is legal money.. Its upto him to decide how he wants to spend it. How much he wants to spend on charity or gifts his is own personal decision. Why are you guys getting so pissed off?
If Bill Gates spends millions of dollars in his foundation, sure.. he is doing a very good thing and is a great person. But that doesn’t mean ambani is a crook if he doesn’t donate to charity. Like I said, its his cash.
