Oh well..
Its been so many days since I added an entry here. Is is the laziness in me, is it the practical exams that I have going or is it AIDA and INDIAGSM that I was working on… I really don’t know. I even have my last year exams coming up, due 24th. Wish me luck for the same ;)
Accha?’s Akismet caught 387 spam comments yesterday. I wonder why people don’t understand the power of Akismet.
I finally activated GPRS on my phone, 2 days back. I have opted for the NOP ( Net on Phone ) plan from my MSP Airtel, which allows me to surf any damn site on my phone, unlimited browsing for a mere Rs. 2 / day. I hope this helps reduces my broadband bills, although it seems totally unlikely.
My old Nokia 1100’s is breathing his last and I’ve decided to go for the new Nokia E50, loads of featres packed into a phone at a price totally worth the features. I’ll put up a review soon.
I’ve my last board practical tomorrow, Visual Basic that is. I’m really worried about it, not because there is an external coming, but because the internal ( our very own subject teacher ) goes hell bent on asking out of the world questions to the students. Oh well, wish me luck.
I’m off for now.
Ciao

The NOP is sweet. I thought it was EDGE. It’s GPRS you say? What’s the speed? Around 300 kbps right?
Try connecting it to your computer and using it as a modem. The feature is there but it didn’t work when I tried it with a friend’s phone.
All The Best. [-O< %%- :-D
NOP? Its called Airtel Mobile Office here in karnataka.. but it costs 20 bucks for one day!! (or 100 a week).. whats more.. the maximum speed you get is around 120kbits per sec. 300kbps for just Rs 2 is really cool.. hope they start it in bangalore!
Anyways, good to see you posting again.. even I just “revived” my blog so check it out!
@Marc:
The phone I was using it on didn’t have EDGE. But my new E50 does and I’m getting EDGE speeds on it. It even connects to my PC ( needs some tweaking though )
@neel:
Thanks
@Munim:
Well Munim. Mumbai Airtel Prepaid has 3 plans actually.
1) Airtel Live: Is FREE. Allows only surfing on Airtel’s Live Portal.
2) Net On Phone ( NOP ): Rs. 2 / day. Allows surfing of _any_ site, but just on mobile.
3) Mobile Office: Rs. 7 / day. Same as NOP, but also allows PC Connectivity.
So I need to subscribe to Mobile Office to connect my PC to the NOP service?
Well,
Mobile office is just another plan like the NOP.
With Mobile office, you can connect your phone to the PC and surf without any restrictions. Totally unlimited.
However, with NOP there is a 3MB file download restriction and no all sites open on the PC.
