April 2007

Oh well,

Just when everyone thought it was going all smoothly, this happens. TV News channels all over the country are booming this story of a young 23-year old model, Janhvi Kapoor, whose name also apparently is Nayna Rizvi, who claims that Abhishek had promised to marry her and that they spent lots of fun moments together.

Today, the 20th of April, the couple is all set to tie the knot. And this lady, in front of the Bachchan bungalow “Prateeksha”, slit open her wrists gathering all attention of the media-persons present there.

The TV Channels are doing their detective-giri of their own and one channel has come up with proofs that this model has been married twice before this, has a 10-year old son living in Kashmir and apparently, her X-husband left her because she had extra-marital affairs.

Oh well.. all this is so filmy. Just so “Bollywood”.

I can’t stop smiling. I really can’t. Happiness, joy, excited is all what I am. I feel like :D/:D/:D/

I have been longing for a good phone after my “mama” took away my 6030 and gave me his 1100 :(. SMSing on it was a real PITA. I couldn’t even scroll up and down.

Well, anyways, coming to the point, I purchased a Nokia E50 for myself. And I’m loving every paisa that I’ve spent for it. Living every moment that I spend with it. Amazing, Superb, Fantastic etc are mere under-statemnets to describe it.

I won’t really tell you about the features because a simple Google search gives you tons of results. Even a search for reviews will be good.

I have even activated Airtel’s GPRS service on it. Its called “Net On Phone” and is available for a mere Rs. 2/day and I’ve been lucky enough to get EDGE speeds. Plus, I am also able to connect it to my PC and use it >:) ( Unlimited downloads @ Rs. 60 / month >:) )

Oh well..

Its been so many days since I added an entry here. Is is the laziness in me, is it the practical exams that I have going or is it AIDA and INDIAGSM that I was working on… I really don’t know. I even have my last year exams coming up, due 24th. Wish me luck for the same ;)

Accha?’s Akismet caught 387 spam comments yesterday. I wonder why people don’t understand the power of Akismet.

I finally activated GPRS on my phone, 2 days back. I have opted for the NOP ( Net on Phone ) plan from my MSP Airtel, which allows me to surf any damn site on my phone, unlimited browsing for a mere Rs. 2 / day. I hope this helps reduces my broadband bills, although it seems totally unlikely.

My old Nokia 1100′s is breathing his last and I’ve decided to go for the new Nokia E50, loads of featres packed into a phone at a price totally worth the features. I’ll put up a review soon.

I’ve my last board practical tomorrow, Visual Basic that is. I’m really worried about it, not because there is an external coming, but because the internal ( our very own subject teacher ) goes hell bent on asking out of the world questions to the students. Oh well, wish me luck.

I’m off for now.

Ciao

Wondering what the title is all about ? What are those 3 things doing in one sentence ? Well, read on.

Its been about a year now, that I purchased my Transcend JetFlash 256Mb twins. I was fascinated by them, how so much Data could be stored on them with such a small physical size. About a year back, I had paid Rs. 700 for a single 256MB stick.

And now, you can easily buy a 1 GB stick for a mere 650 bucks. The price of these pen drives, be it Transcend, I-ball or SanDisk has fallen to a great extent. My dad recently bought 2 GB Trancend twins for his college. I too, am longing to get one for myself. Probably a 4GB one. Haven’t decided yet.

Ohh, so you must be wondering where did the Washing Machine come in the title, aren’t you ?

Well, all of the 4 pendrives mentioned above, have been on a up and down journey through my washing machine. We do not have a maid to wash clothes and this job is done by my Granny. She usually takes the clothes lying around, puts them in the washing machine, opens up the water tap, presses the settings buttons and turns on the ride and relaxes. Now, ME and my DAD both have a habit of keeping the Mass Storage Devices in our pant pockets. And thus, these devices have been been through water, soap, washing cycles, hot water firings and what not.

The first time I realised that they have gone through this, I was pissed and worried at the same time. A lot of “Imp” data was abord the chip. I quickly took it and started removing the water. With my fingers crossed, I tested it and it worked. Yayyy :D/, And believe me, everytime then on these drives have been through the machine, they’ve shown no signs of damage. You just have to make sure that no water remains in them when you plug them in. Else, it may short.

So you see, I have complete trust in Transcend pen drives now.
